Welcome to our June newsletter. June, a month for PRIDE, is filled with many events regionally. If ever there was a time to show your Pride and add your voice to the millions claiming visibility and dignity, June 2026 is that time.
Our group will be marching in the fourth place of the Spokane Pride Parade on Saturday, June 13. We will also have a booth at the fair afterwards in Riverside Park in the Lilac Bowl. Come join us, or come cheer us on. We still need volunteers to assist. Also, email us or you would like to be in the parade but would like to ride as opposed to walk.
T-shirts with the "rooted in community" tree designed for us by Christopher can still be ordered. Since the special order printing takes time, they may not be available for the Spokane Pride Festival, you can still wear them with pride. Jacki figured out how to put it on a shirt and you can order one now, courtesy of Jacki, at her family and friends discount price. Many of us will be wearing the T-shirts at upcoming Pride events. Thank you, Christopher, Marney and Jacki for organizing this opportunity.
On Saturday, June 6, we will have a presence at North Idaho Pride Alliance's Pride in the Park at McEuen Park in downtown Coeur d'Alene. The event kicks off at 11 and goes until 6.
Our first “Zoom Friday” of each month focuses on members sharing their coming out journeys. The next presenter will be on Friday, June 5.
The speakers for May's third Friday zoom were from Olive Branch Senior Living Advisors, LLC. They spoke to us about their organization and efforts to place seniors in nurturing, safe and welcoming housing. Their service is free to seniors. There were four people from their team, and all of them presented as knowledgeable, competent, caring individuals. We will also be adding them to our resource page on our website.
The Steering Committee welcomes Dale, from SAN, and Marney as new members. If you are interested in participating in the committee, please send us a message through our website. We meet the last Thursday of the month at 3 via zoom for an hour.
On Wednesday, June 24, SAGE and AARP are offering a free webinar at 2 pm EST on how the LGBTQ+ community can recognize and protect themselves from consumer fraud. Visit the SAGE website on our resources page to register.
