April, spring, flowers, eggs and bunnies - and garden tilling, lawn mowing, seed planting, spring cleaning. How did we get here so soon?
Taco Tuesday, Lunch-OUT-on-the-Town and Thursday's Coffee and Conversation have been thriving and tasty times to connect with other older rainbow folk. Check it out for yourself at one or more of our get togethers. Our monthly second-Saturday potlucks continue as well.
Our third Friday zoom speakers for March, Barb and Anne, led a poignant and lively session on demystifying death. They will return in April for a second session. Death is a subject that is scary to many people. It can be especially difficult for elder queer folks for a variety of reasons. Please feel welcome to join us for the second presentation on April 17. It's OK to attend even if you missed the first one.
We have registered for a booth space and parade participation for Spokane Pride on Saturday, June 13th. There is a real need for people to come forward and help if we want to have a continued presence at these events. It can be as simple as walking with our group in the parade, helping to set up the booth, sitting with us for an hour or so during the festival to talk to people, helping to break down the canopy and table, or getting others to the event.
Christine attended a zoom lecture provided by SAGE on health disparities and LGBTQ+aging. She wrote a great summary of the event.
Best wishes to Jerry as he continues to recover from surgery.
