Do you know what really happened on the Ides of March? The Roman Senators were having hot dogs for lunch. There were only enough hot dogs for everyone to have one. Brutus came up to Caesar and asked him how many he had eaten. Caesar said, "et tu, Brutus". Brutus was so mad he stabbed him. Uh, huh -gospel. Beware the hot dogs of March.
Happy Birthday to our known leprechauns, Gordon, Jacki and Al!
News of Note:
An information session for the group was held after the February
potluck in which the direction of our group and the
structure of the group was discussed. The steering committee has had many dialogs over the last two months as well. We concluded that there was little interest in forming a 501c3 non-profit at this time. We may review the interest level again in a year. Most people who expressed a view felt that the current arrangement with UU is sustainable and working. We affirmed that at this time we are primarily a social and educational group.
Dan has spearheaded a financial committee that is formulating protocols for how we administer money. This has led to a larger discussion on how decisions are made and who makes them. We hope to formalize our governance for presentation to the group by April. Please stay tuned.
Hannah attended a February planning session for the upcoming
Spokane Pride in the Park. We plan on having a booth there on FLAT ground. Volunteers are needed!
Please be aware that UU has a firm policy of no weapons in the building, concealed or visible. As a group utilizing their facility we are also obligated to be in compliance. There has not been an issue; this is just a friendly reminder.
