April '23 Newsletter

UPDATE:

OOPS, after attending UU for 30+ years on Fort George Wright it's hard to remember it's now Whistalks Way. The Spectrum singers have a concert on April 29th, at Shadle Park H.S. at 7:00. Also a fund raising event tomorrow night at nYne with Nova Kaine.

Spring has sprung

I wonder where the flowers is?

Well folks - come see the flowers blooming around the UU church at noon on April 8 at our monthly potluck! Yay for us for making it through another winter. 4340 W. Fort George Wright Drive, perhaps an "Easterish" theme? Or Spring, for us atheists.

Our weekly zoom meetings continue at 4 pm on Fridays. The Wednesday zoom call is taking a break, perhaps beginning again in the fall.

Hopefully, the speaker for April on our third Friday zoom call will be from the lgbtq office at Gonzaga.

Your Steering Committee postponed the one day retreat until April 19. Again, feel free to attend or send questions/comments to us via email to Nancy or Jacki. Our agenda at this time includes looking at several events such as the Spokane Pride event - we really need volunteers to assist and manage some of these events if we are going to be able to participate. Please consider donating time and skill to an event - be it cleaning up after our potlucks, or"personning" a booth at an event. We are still looking for a truck that could hold some folks who can't walk for the parade .

The speaker for March was Alison Mitch, a facilitator for death cafes - she was wonderful. A recording of the session is available until April 1st. Nancy sent it out as a link last week . Alison does a monthly zoom death cafe for lgbtq+ people. The meeting is for our community only, and you must preregister - it is free. The contact for that will be coming.

We hope to send a summary of our retreat out in late April that will give more specific headlights about the remainder of 2023.

Be well All -
